Study Spanish In The City Of Eternal Spring

Laura Morland

Elefun Spanish School

After gaining my American Studies degree I built a career in Public Relations, working with large retailers in the UK. Five years ago, I decided to set off on a solo trip around Latin America. I arrived in Colombia in 2019 and immediately fell in love with the friendly Colombian people, the beautiful culture, and of course, the excellent weather here in Medellín! I started studying Spanish at Elefun towards the end of 2020, and I was blown away by the amazing atmosphere at the school. Last year, the opportunity to work with Elefun came up, and I jumped at the chance to be part of such a great team. I love helping students make the most of their time here in Colombia and sharing my experiences and advice for studying Spanish.

Elefun Spanish School

I am a Hispanic philologist, with a master’s degree in teaching Spanish as a foreign language. In 2017, I founded Elefun Spanish school at our first location in Laureles, Medellín. Since then, we have helped over 1,000 students, from around the world, learn Spanish. Earlier this month, we opened our second Elefun school in the Manila, Poblado area of the city. I love teaching my language and my culture, I enjoy creating community and learning, and I love to exercise and enjoy nature. People often ask why I chose the name “Elefun” for the school. I have a great affinity with elephants – they are very intelligent, know how to play and have fun, and importantly, they have a strong sense of community – everything I wanted to represent in our school.
